Good Morning!
What color are you wearing today? Or do you wear color at all?
I've always been good about wearing colored tops...and sometimes dresses. But I must admit, for many years it was black dress pants, black capris, black casual pants, black skirts, black yoga pants, black leggings, black tights...black, black, black on the bottom!
Why? Well, I know many women are guilty of wearing lots of black to make themselves look thinner. And as a woman who struggles with her weight, maybe I'm guilty of a bit of that too. But there is more going on...
1. Black goes with everything! If I'm wearing black pants, I can just choose the top I want to wear and not put so much thought into "what color goes with this?"
2. I just plain like black...especially when combined with a pretty bright jewel toned something.
3. Black somehow looks dressier...and more expensive than the same thing in another color!
And yet, I'm getting tired of seeing myself in so much of the same. So for the last year or so I've been making an effort to get more "bottoms" that are not black. Some are other neutrals like taupe, or chocolate brown, or dark wash denim... but some are actual colors like peacock green, aqua, and coral. But you know what? I DO sometimes find myself not so sure "what goes with this" or wearing the same top with something all the time because it's the only one I'm sure of.
But, I want to do better. So how do you incorporate lots of color into your wardrobe and make it easier to figure out "what goes with this? What top can one wear with a red skirt?
Until Next Time...
D.D.
